If you are interested in the Bioinformatics specialization, you will need to apply to the general Biology MSc. program at ELTE TTK. You will be contacted before the entry exam about your preferred specialization and chosen topics. The training program is primarily targeting students with e Bsc in Biology. In this case no additional requirements apply. However, graduates from other undergraduate degrees are also welcome. If you have completed your undergraduate degree in another field, you will need to earn credit points for certain subjects to make up the difference. In this case, it is worth inquiring at the registrar’s office. You can also check Felvi.hu what regulations apply to you.
Please note that the specialization is run only in English. A good command of English is necessary for the completion of the program. Basically, you have to be able to follow the presentations, understand the tasks and be comfortable asking questions in English. In general, a level corresponding to the B2 complex language exam is sufficient at the entry exam.
We assume no prior programming experience. However, you will need to have an aptitude for programming and algorithmic thinking. Strong mathematics skills are also not a requirement, basically you just have to be able to solve problems and use basic logic.
